Long have I fought, tried everything and always had hope that my injuries would go away forever (check my earlier blog on Injuries), but the time has come that I have to accept the fact that this is not going to happen. I can deal with it, take care of it, and be patient, but it will never be really cured: my 2 elbows with osteochondritis dissecans, and my right shoulderblade. Well, I could go into paraclimbing. Let´s see if that is an option.
But what exactly IS paraclimbing?
´Paraclimbing athletes have faced challenges and overcome obstacles that their able-bodied counterparts likely could not imagine. The drive to perform and succeed is truly inspirational and a joy to watch´ (Senderone, 2022).
There are four main categories in paraclimbing:
1. Visually Impaired/Blind.
2. Arm/Forearm Amputee.
3. Leg Amputee & Paraplegic.
4. Limited Range, Power & Stability.
I could be in nr. 4. but let me first just try to stay out of injuries and into only climbing, bouldering and cardio. Nothing much of push and pull ups, just regular & light physio exercises. Maybe that helps sufficiently enough to stay healthy and keep on climbing. Being a Real Conscious Climber 🙂 Indoors ánd outdoors.
